ARTIST-SCULPTOR
b. Rock Island, Ill 1948

EDUCATION

1979 MFA, SCULPTURE; SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY, CARBONDALE, ILL

  • The human body, particularly the male body, had been my objet d'art.

  • This body of sculpture blended a unique personal vision with social commentary, humor, storytelling, and an imaginative philosophy, attempting to unravel the mystery of ‘everyday life’. The work explored a constant and evolving theme connecting the human figure to the truth of our own materiality.

  • Studied under Thomas Walsh

1975 BA, SELF PROPOSED, INTERDISCIPLINARY; SOUTHERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY, CARBONDALE, ILL

  • As an undergraduate, working within four departments, I proposed a special Interdisciplinary degree program integrating aspects of art, music, philosophy, and photography.

  • My intention was to create comprehensive core understanding of the essence which persists within all fine art.
